Mar in a Nutshell

I love Orange Soda.

I intentionally mismatch my clothes.

Horrible clumsiness + Kidney Disease = I bruise like an old Peach.

Civic Engagement drives me as a member of society.

I have been dubbed “The Salt Police.”  Pick up the salt shaker…I dare you.

I have a massive family.  I wouldn’t trade my large, dysfunctional bunch for anything.

There are amazing people everywhere.  I can feel at home wherever I go.

I prefer to be called Mar, but have been known to answer to: Snugs, Shmar, Punjab, Yram, Mer, B, Mar Bear and hey you in the weird outfit.

I love to cook.

I dislike Bob Barker…alot…and I’m not sure why.

I sleep with an eye mask.

My favorite color is Green.

I always wanted an American Girl doll when I was little.  So much so that I found myself a little biter because I only got the books.  It’s pathetic that my niece and her 7 dolls is what cured my disease.

I love to travel.  There’s an ongoing competition in my family regarding who gets to all 50 states first.  I’m in second place with 48.  ”The world is a book; those who don’t travel read only one page.”

I had a weird obsession with Days of our Lives in junior high.  I kept scrapbooks, wore t-shirts, and dragged Laura and my Mom to the annual southern Illinois festival.  Yikes.

I think my niece and nephew are two of the coolest people I know.

I love Minnesota Public Radio with a passionate rage.

I grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm and treasure the fragile memories I hold from this period of my life.

I play the Clarinet and the Spoons.

I love The Beatles dearly.

When I was little, all I wanted to be when I grew up was a Magician.

I love to create, especially by recycling and re-purposing.   Junk to one is treasure to another.
